WHO AM I?

WHO AM I ?

Channelling their love of 80’s kid’s TV shows like Trapdoor and Hart Beat, Sadie May Studio and Easy Animal Studio teamed up to create a weird and wonderful stop-motion riddle for the Francis Crick Institute’s newest exhibition.

You’ve got 30 seconds before the answer is revealed… Did you guess correctly?

The biggest challenge of this project was figuring out how each of the complex models would morph into the next. We could have gone the simple route with just a straight morph from A to B, but we wanted them to be more playful and dynamic so we planned each transition by drawing them in Photoshop before moving into plasticine.

We then worked with the excellent Ana Roman, to create an ASMR-inspired soundtrack full of bouncing balloons, plucks and squelches.

Every animator dreams of these kinds of projects, and even though we needed to sit in a pitch-black room for 2 weeks (to avoid any flickering light showing up in the stop motion) it was all worth it.
